Too often, people want to have the things that they want before becoming the person they need to be to get those things. Most also want to skip doing the right action steps to get them there. They want to hop on the elevator with someone who has the things they want. The problem is that the elevator is broken. There’s also the group of people who don’t mind doing the work, but they forget about becoming the person first.

The lost success formula is Be +Do = Have. When you can “be” in your mind right now who you want to be, continue holding that thought process and “do” the things you need to right now, you cannot help but “have” what you want in your life.

Then, and only then, will you have that in your life. If you do not “be + do,” then you will not have it — the only way is to follow the formula. Your being and doing must be in alignment with what you want to have. You can’t do the wrong actions and expect to get the results you want.

Be + Do = Have Anything You Want

1. Be: The first step is “becoming.” You have to become the type of person who can do the things necessary to have what it is you want. You have to be this type of person already in your mind. This needs to be a consistent thought. You have to think like they think. When you become this type of person in your mind and believe the things are already yours, you will automatically start doing the necessary action steps that are required to have the stuff this type of person has. You will not do the right action steps, learn the necessary skills for this and invest in yourself until you first learn to be this person. If you are doing, but not learning the skills and investing in yourself to learn, then you are not being — you are simply doing, and you can’t have.

2. Do: The second step is “doing.” Doing is taking the right action steps to get what you want to have. If you are doing, but not the right things, you are simply wasting time. You won’t have what you want. If it’s something you’ve never had, then you don’t really know what it takes to actually have it — you don’t know the exact skills and steps that are needed to have it. That’s why learning is a must with doing. You need to learn from people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish, and often this requires a monetary investment. This investment is also a part of doing. Once you have the skills, tools and resources needed, then you must take massive action to accomplish what’s necessary for having what you want. Often people stop at the point of taking massive action. They underestimate the amount of work and time it takes for the person they are being to literally have what they want.

3. Have: The final step is “having.” Those who are consistent with their being and doing eventually must have it: the final, inevitable result. It is as sure as an apple tree can only grow apples and not oranges. If it grows oranges, then it’s not an apple tree, it’s an orange tree.

Remember the person that you wanted to hop on the elevator with? They went through the same steps described. They did these things in the dark when no one was looking at them. The success you see in the light is the result of what was done in the dark.
